Tom Thunder, AuD, is both an audiologist and an acoustical engineer. He completed undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University, post-graduate work in acoustics at the Illinois Institute of Technology and doctoral studies in audiology at Salus University. He owned a private practice for nearly 20 years where he dispensed hearing aids and offered hearing conservation services. He has been doing forensic work and teaching CAOHC courses for more than 20 years. As a faculty member at Rush University, he teaches courses in audiology, acoustics, psychoacoustics and hearing conservation. He also teaches online courses in hearing conservation at four other universities including the University of Louisville. Tom is a past president of the Illinois Academy of Audiology and the Chicago Area Acoustical Society.
