Luis F Riquelme

Luis Riquelme, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, is currently associate professor, New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York; and director, Barrique SLP at the Center for Swallowing and Speech-Language Pathology, New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his MS at Columbia University and his PhD at The Graduate Center, City University New York. Luis has authored articles on dysphagia, multiculturalism, cultural competence, leadership and quality improvement. He has presented locally and nationally. Luis is a board certified specialist in swallowing (BCS-S) and a member of the Dysphagia Research Society (DRS). He has served on several local and national boards and committees. At present he is vice-chair of the American Board of Swallowing & Swallowing Disorders and co-chair of the National Aphasia Association's Multicultural Task Force.
