The purpose of this research study was to obtain information regarding the data collection skills among students in a graduate level Speech-Language Pathology program. Eight students participating in their first on-campus clinical practicum were compared to 15 students participating in their second on-campus clinical practicum. Demographic data was obtained and students were asked to collect data on a goal after viewing a five-minute video of a therapy session. Results show that students participating in their second on-campus clinical practicum collected more accurate data. It's important that students are prepared to go out into the field and collect accurate data during therapy sessions because the field of Speech-Language Pathology is dependent on evidence-based practice.
