A study of the effectiveness of pairing dance and movement with story presentation in children with and without language impairments was conducted. Two participants, one with and one without a language learning difficulty participated in this research study. Participants were tested with the Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals- 4th Edition (CELF-4) to determine overall language ability and get a baseline measure of language functioning. Each participant was presented two stories; one with the visual of dance and movement added to the story and one without. Story retellings were then recorded and analyzed with language sample analysis software. Results suggested that dance and movement aided the use of more specific words, increased average length of utterances, and decreased the number of mazes and word-level errors produced by the participant who presented with a language learning difficulty.
