This session will outline a sensitive approach to assessing, treating and care for voice disorders and offer suggestions to SLPs who wish to work with this unique population. Treatment approach will primarily be aimed at teens and adults in which specialized skills are required of SLPs that will help them discriminate, model and teach improved resonant voice. Hands-on training for laryngeal palpation and optimal posture will be covered as well as helpful tools that can be used to educate and train patients throughout the process. The session will be broken up into five sections that will discuss a specialized case history intake, assessment of voice capability, customized treatment, educational care for vocal health and a Q & A opportunity.
