When Pictures Aren't Enough: Using QR Codes in Language Therapy

Friday, 5:30pm to 6:30pm
Windgate Hall
SP7
The purpose of this poster was to explore the development and use of Quick Response (QR) codes as a potential clinical tool. A volunteer student research group developed QR codes that immediately direct the user to online materials such as videos and pictures that illustrate frequently occurring therapy targets (e.g., a quick video of a child running). Any free QR code scanning app for smart phones or tablets can activate the QR codes and show the materials. Clinicians will find free QR code materials and directions for making QR codes on the group's clinical technology website, https://sites.google.com/a/truman.edu/cmdsipadresources/.
