My presentation is the story of my life. How one minute I was a very popular high school kid, who was an athlete on an academic scholarship, and then I was suddenly fighting for my life. My life changed the night I was in a car accident and suffered, among other things, a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for three months. When I woke up, I was unable to walk or talk. During this session I will share my recovery process, what worked and what did not, how as a clinician you can encourage your clients and keep them on track and how all of this impacted my decision to go back to school. I will also share my success with using a Lightwriter communication device and how I dealt with becoming angry at the world, losing my faith, then what changed me.
