Modern applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a rapidly growing field with increasing integration into a variety of populations and settings. In many instances, especially in the management of problem behavior, communication is at the core of the behavioral plans. SLPs can benefit greatly from understanding ABA based methods for teaching verbal behavior which have been so extremely successful. This presentation will serve as an introduction to ABA theoretical framework; ABA terminology and their speech-language based equivalents; common ABA methodology of interest to SLPs.
