This session will address the benefits of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) supported by evidence based research. Topics will include an overview of the procedure, advantages of FEES in the patient's natural environment and justification in the dementia and LTC environment. Case studies and FEES recordings will be reviewed to encourage clinicians to think more dynamically when interpreting results of instrumental swallow evaluations.
