Feeding Practices in the NICU and Long-term Effects

Friday, 5:30pm to 6:30pm
Windgate Hall
SP3
This poster presentation will review practices of feeding therapy in the NICU that affect both positive and negative long-term feeding patterns of infants, which, in turn, affect discharge from the NICU. Based on a review of this literature, cue-based feeding techniques have the most positive effect on infant feeding skills. The techniques and efficacy of cue-based feeding as a framework for intervention with this population will be discussed.
