The purpose of this research is to determine the specific risk factors speech-language pathologists identify as having a negative effect on an infant's language development. Speech pathologists were contacted and surveyed via email through a variety of distribution methods including personal contacts and listserves. The survey was a case study followed with questions directed toward beliefs about what factors influence language disorders. Speech pathologists who were included had primary caseloads consisting of children ages birth to eighteen. The objective was to identify what factors speech pathologists associated with impacting language development. The current study is still ongoing and results have not been conducted.
