The purpose of this program is to explore caregiver perceptions of the effects of anti-epileptic drugs on their children. This research builds from a systematic review conducted by the researchers that indicates possible effects of anti-seizure medications on language and other cognitive skills. This qualitative research expands on that review with three semi-structured interviews conducted with three sets of parents of children who have seizure disorders and analyzed for common themes. Additionally, the research includes an interview conducted with a pharmacist to further explore the impact of anti-seizure medications on expressive language skills.
