Dysphagia in Children Who Have Sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury

This presentation explores aspects of swallowing deficits in children who have sustained a traumatic brain injury. This poster focuses on specific swallowing deficits, such as abnormal tongue reflexes and poor jaw stability, that may be present after the child sustains a traumatic brain injury. In addition to discussing swallowing deficits, information will be discussed that pertains to other potential areas of deficits such as cognition, behavior, and sensory. The Clinical Swallowing Evaluation (CSE) will be presented with information focusing on how to implement the evaluation.
