This study was designed to demonstrate Apples to Apples(TM) as an appropriate therapy activity in a group setting with adults who had varying levels of fluent or non-fluent aphasia. Apples to Apples(TM) was used as a group activity to target cognitive skills (attention, problem solving, deductive reasoning, and decision making) as well as communication skills (repair/revision of communication) as measured by word-finding accuracy with and without clinician assistance. Apples to Apples(TM) created an environmental context that promoted implementation of cognitive/communicative strategies when word-finding.
