Pavel Zahorik, PhD, holds the Heuser Hearing Research Endowed Chair and is an associate professor with dual appointments in the Division of Communicative Disorders, Department of Surgery and the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Louisville. He received his PhD in experimental psychology from the University of Wisconsin in 1998 and completed three years of postdoctoral study in auditory and visual perception with Dr. Jack Loomis at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Current research interests include: the perception of sound source distance, the impact of echoes and reverberation on speech intelligibility and on percepts of source direction and distance, as well as the effects of adaptation, training and input from other sensory modalities on spatial hearing. His work has been supported by NIH and AFOSR.
