Earl Johnson, PhD, AuD, is an advanced practice audiologist for the US Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Mountain Home, Tennessee. He participates in the doctorate of audiology curriculum instruction at East Tennessee State University as an assistant professor. He is also the owner of Johnson Hearing Technology and Communication PLLC, a private practice that specializes in the delivery of quality hearing health care examinations, education, products and service. Much of Dr. Johnson's research and training has been focused on the efficacy and effectiveness of hearing aid product features and signal processing as well as hearing aid dispensing and practicing trends. Most recently his research program has emphasized the comparative study of validated prescriptive methods for assigning parameters of amplification to adults and children based on audiometric assessment data and exploring the many forms of providing better hearing.
