This session will focus on the use of the test of aided communication symbol performance (TASP) for evaluation of alternative augmentative communication (AAC) users. Strategies with discussion regarding the selection of AAC devices will take place. Formulation of IEP goals that are directly related to the development of communication using AAC will be reviewed and practiced. Examples of therapy related to the training of static and dynamic AAC devices will be reviewed and discussed. Jefferson County has multiple students who are reliant on use of AAC and the speech-language pathologist is directly responsible for the students' ability to access the standards and curriculum.
